So , after 40 odd years of Steelfixing or as the U.S. calls us Rodbusters , I took a break and spent a lot of time shooting images . I live in a small community called “The Palms” with my partner of 30 plus years Denise . She does all the Email crap and critiques my work ( “she lets me know when I’ve produce rubbish” ) . Like any other photographer , I’ve got a ridiculous amount of “stuff” half of which gets used . My favorites for shooting The Boys are the Nikon D4s with the 500mm f4 or the 300mm f2.8 they produce a nice sharp image that makes it easier to cut out a mask . All of the Pelicans used in my composites are from Ron’s Jetty . They are not manipulated other than exposure and tone adjustments . The boys wearing hats , flying planes ,driving tanks ect . are “shot as is “! I hope you enjoy at least some of my work , because I enjoyed putting them together .
